Kids can also request other characters to trace/color leading up to the program.

Serving Up Some Help!

Saturday, December 7
Two times, for different age groups:
Grades K-2: 3:00 PM-3:45 PM
Grades 3-6: 4:00 PM - 4:45 PM

At this program, Girl Scout Everett Dalrymple will guide youth through some nutritious snack making and recipe searching! We will search the library collection for easy, healthy recipes to put into a book that will be distributed to users of the resource center. The kids can decorate their own piece of paper with the recipe on it. The recipes will include foods that the resource center has to offer. To end we will work together to make snacks with the kids that are yummy AND healthy.

After the program, Everett and the Girl Scouts will work to finish and share the book with the Resource Center, helping center clients learn new ways to use the food they access through it.

Registration is required for this one-time special community service activity.  Please notify us of any food allergies when registering.

Quick FAQ

  • Registration is required or preferred for most programs. Please check registration requirements before showing up for a program, as our small spaces cannot always accommodate drop-ins.
  • Siblings are welcome to attend programs with their caregivers, as long as it is not disruptive. We do not always have enough supplies or staff to allow siblings to participate in special or complex projects, however. Please contact us to discuss your situation if you have questions.

  • A caregiver is required to remain present in a program or on library grounds, depending on the program, when any child under 5 years old is participating in a library program. Children 5 years old or older may be able to dropped off and picked up, if we have adequate emergency contact information for their caregivers.

  • If you have trouble registering online, our staff is happy to help you sign up. You can email us at children@pawlinglibrary.org, call us at 845-855-3444, or stop by the front desk for sign up assistance.

  • Programs are always free to attend, thanks to generous funding from community donations and Dutchess County.
