The Great Give Back: Helping our Community

The Pawling library is partnering with our friends at the Pawling Resource Center who are in need of your help. They are especially in need of the products listed below. We are asking that you please donate whatever items you can to our library. The Great Give Back is a program that offers our patrons the opportunity to help people in their community. Donations will be accepted from Friday, October 1, until Friday, October 15. Items needed: Toiletries – shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss, deodorant Paper products – toilet paper, tissues, paper towels Baby diapers and wipes Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. Yin Restorative Yoga / Online Program

The poses are held longer than hatha yoga (1 minute to 3-4 minutes) and mostly performed close to the floor. There are few standing postures. This form of yoga is known for calming and balancing the mind, body and internal organs, increasing circulation, and improving flexibility and joint mobility. Yin Restorative Yoga encourages the use of props. For class make sure you have a strap (belt or scarf will do), yoga block (or book), eye pillow, and pillows, rolled up towels etc. for various areas of support. This presentation explores the intent and consequences of Roosevelt’s Executive Order 9066.   About our presenter: Jeffrey Urbin is the Education Specialist and Director of the Pare Lorentz Film Center at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum in Hyde Park, New York where he is responsible for developing all of the Library’s education offerings ranging from second grade to college and adult learning programs.
