Support your library!

Thanks to everyone who’s donated already! The financial assistance from you and your neighbors helps us bring the best library services to everyone in Pawling. Our Annual Appeal is off to a great start, and I just wanted to reach out and remind you that it’s not too late to donate! Last year, our patrons checked out over 60,000 books, DVD’s, audiobooks, and eBooks from our library. The attendance at our programs — which cover everything from early literacy for infants to memoir writing for adults — reached almost 16,000. To help us continue our mission and bring lifelong learning and literacy to everyone in Pawling, Holmes, and Whaley Lake, please donate online or mail this card with your contribution to the library today. Click here for a glimpse at what we’ve been up to this past year!

The Pawling Garden Club Donates Gardening Books in Memory of Phyllis Hilda Scerebini

The Pawling Garden Club Donates Gardening Books in Memory of Phyllis Hilda Scerebini

The Pawling Garden Club has generously donated eight books to The Pawling Library in memory of Phyllis Hilda Scerebini. The new books, listed below, cover a broad range of gardening subjects from basic plant care to radical landscape design to how to attract butterflies to your garden.  With all the green thumbs in Pawlng, gardening books are very popular here at the library, so these are a welcome addition to our collection that will likely see a lot of use. Below, you’ll find a list of the books donated by the garden club. You can click on the book’s title to see the book in our catalog, where you can check the status of the book, or put a hold on it. You can also call or stop in, and we’ll help you find the book you want. Thanks to the Garden Club and Phyllis Hilda Scerebini for the generous contribution to our community’s collection. Please Welcome Miss Christy and our Children’s Fall Programs

Please Welcome Miss Christy and our Children’s Fall Programs

Please join me in welcoming the newest addition to the Pawling Library’s all-star team, Miss Christy. Miss Christy will be filling in for Miss Karen while she recovers from her eye surgery, and she’s put together a lot of great programs for the kids of Pawling including a Preschool Story Hour and some cool Book Clubs for School Age Kids. Miss Christy has worked in the library on the Military Base at West Point, and currently works with the boys in the library at the Trinity-Pawling School. I think her love for children’s literature will make her a great addition to our library. Lottery Registration for our Fall Programs will begin Monday, September 15th. You can pick up a registration form at the Circulation Desk or you can print one out here: Childrens Fall 2014 Program Registration Form When you return your registration form, you’ll pull a number, which will determine your ranking for Registration. All Pawling residents will be enrolled in our programs first, and then we will fill any leftover spaces in our programs with non-residents....
