Readers Anonymous

Readers Anonymous

Explorers of the unknown story, seekers of thrills and truth, eaters of pages and covers, this club takes the plunge into the deep end of books. Who knows what we will discover! Possible riches of pages and text or steaming piles of dead words and unattractive characters. Our February book is The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau.  Read the book and join us on February 21st at 2:00 in the YA section of the Library. The Readers Anonymous Book Club is for teens (6th-12th grade) who enjoy reading YA literature. Contact Nicole at the library (855-3444) or email her (teen@pawlinglibrary.org) if you have any questions.

Pawling Wildcats Battle at Regional Competition!

Saturday, September 6th 2014 at 9:00am in the morning, 8 teens from Pawling made their way into the Main Building of the Columbia Green Community College for the 10th Annual Battle of the Books regional competition.  They sported safety orange shirts each personally designed and decorated.  It was hot and the team was ready to go! Through nail biting tension, the team battled the other teams from Kent, Pleasant Valley/Lagrange, and Kingston! All rounds were very close and challenging.  After three rounds we were defeated and went on to enjoy the rest of the very hot Saturday, wishing luck to the rest of the teams that had survived to that point.  After an amazing summer of books, games, battles, and buzzers, we finished our 2014 season. Congratulations to Brigid Barrick, Aidan Graham, Alyssa Harris, Avalon Lenenthal, Madeline Ragusa, Susannah Smith, Stephanie Sypher, and Jessica Tocci!  Amazing job and a wonderful summer!!  Can’t wait for next year!!
