The primary organs are the kidneys, skin, and lungs; the accessory organs are the liver, gall bladder, organs of the urinary system, and large intestine. The skin is the largest organ of the body and it eliminates body waste through sweat. The lungs expel carbon dioxide from the blood, so respiration is a function of the excretory system. The kidneys, bladder, and urethra are part of the urinary system and in combination they rid the blood of excess nitrogen, urea, salts and water in the form of urine. Free Covid Tests

Dutchess County has provided the Pawling Library with at-home Covid tests. Anyone who would like a free two-pack of tests may pick one up at the library any time we are open, while supplies last.

BOOK SEARCH: The Quest To Find The Oldest Book In Pawling

The Pawling Library is holding a Book Search contest as part of our Centennial Celebration. From November 2021 to March 2022 you have to find the oldest book. A winner will be chosen on Tuesday, April  5th and awarded a $50.00 gift certificate from the Book Cove. Hidden away in your attic, in a cabinet, box or chest, might be that literary treasure. Please bring your vintage books to our library so that we can make a note of the titles and dates of publication. We’ll also of course need your contact information. For a century the Pawling Library has been serving our community and will continue to do so in the years to come. Thank you for your patronage.
