Brownie Troop 10017 Helps Others in Need! Can you help them?

Brownie Troop 10017 Helps Others in Need! Can you help them?

Every year Girls Scouts World Wide on World Thinking Day choose a local community program to donate their time and resources to. This year the Pawling Girl Scout Unit 109 decided to help the Dutchess Outreach Program. Dutchess Outreach Program survives on limited funds.  They depend heavily on donations and volunteers to keep their programs open and running.  A few of the Girl Scout troops  donated time to their lunch program, others collected food to donate. Troop 10017 decided to donate toiletries which are items that are in high demand, but not thought of often when people donate supplies.  We are collecting child and adult size diapers, feminine napkins, toilet paper, soap, wash clothes and shaving supplies.   The Pawling Library is proud to help this effort by providing space for the special collection box in the main entrance of the library.  Please help Girl Scout Brownie Troop 10017 by purchasing some of these items and dropping them off when you visit the library.  Donations will be brought to Dutchess Outreach on Saturday, March 21st....

There are things for teens to do this spring at the library.   All new clubs include the Blogging Society, Minecraft Directors, and the Wild Cat Knitters!  Some classes that are being offered this spring include Getting More Out of Microsoft Word and a Microsoft Power Point Seminar.  We still have the Teen Library Counsel, Readers Anonymous, Fashion Club, and Computer Programming that you can sign up for. The Minecraft Gaming Club has also gotten a makeover.  Teens can now join the Minecraft Survivors or the Minecraft Creating club! To sign up for any of the programs, please stop in, call 855-3444, or email Nicole (teen@pawlinglibrary.org).  For more information and to see the full list of clubs, please check out our website!

Our Youngest Advocates by Alexander Ferguson

On Feb 25th, I brought my 3 year old daughter Alana to Library Advocacy day in Albany. We caught the bus in New Paltz at 7:45am. It was an exciting adventure for her, her mom dropped us off with all our toys, snacks, and a Curious George Compilation book. Alana wanted to read story after story of Curious George, and enjoyed drawing pictures on her Magna-doodle on the bus ride. Once we got there, we left our coats on the
