Our wellness as individuals and as a community depends on continued sharing, support and conversation in times of celebration as well as in times of conflict. Each week we’ll check-in at the beginning and end of the session, bookending an hour of time to devote to your personal creative projects, alongside like-minded creators. Whether you’re writing poetry or painting a landscape, the Pawling Library offers you the time to devote to your work that you might not otherwise be able to find in your schedule.   Maya Gottfried is the author of three children’s books, including Good Dog and Our Farm: By the Animals of Farm Sanctuary (both published by Knopf), as well as the adult nonfiction lifestyle guide Vegan Love. Her essays have appeared in media outlets including Oprah Daily,  The Washington Post, and Stat (Boston Globe Media).

Body System Disorders: The Respiratory System – Enhancing the Body’s Life Force (Prana) / Online Program

It includes your airways, lungs and blood vessels. The muscles that power your lungs are also part of the respiratory system. Each part of the respiratory system has many separate components. These include: mouth/nose, sinuses, pharynx, trachea, and bronchial tubes. In addition, the diaphragm and ribs move the air in and out of the lungs. Other components that work with the lungs and blood vessels include: alveoli, bronchioles, capillaries, lung lobes; pleura, cilia, epiglottis, and larynx. There are hundreds of different diseases and conditions – acute to chronic – that can affect the respiratory system, ranging from common cold and flu to pneumonia and COPD. Some are: asthma, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, bronchitis, emphysema, cystic fibrosis, lung cancer,...
