Register for teen programs!

Spring is here! (Well, sort of). The Spring Program Session for teens will run from April 9 – June 9, and you can start signing up now! Registration is on a first come, first served basis.

Tie Dye Party

Saturday, March 10 from 4:00-5:00 PM, teens can come make their own tie dye clothing! Bring in your own white or light colored cotton garments to dye. The library will supply the dye and provide tips and tricks to making your items like, totally awesome. This event is open to teens ages 10-18. Get Ready for Battle of the Books 2018!

The books for the Middle and High School Battles of the Books have been officially released! If you are considering joining the middle or high school battle team, you can get a head start on reading now! Beginning in February, the library will host a Battle of the Books Book Club for the middle school books. We will meet every first and third Thursday from 5:00-6:00 to discuss one of the books. You do not have to plan on joining the team to be a part of the book club, and if you cannot make the book club you can still join the team if you come to practices in the summer. December Programs for Teens

Register now for December teen programs at the library!  We will make our own holiday decorations, have a teen movie night, a special winter themed Minecraft Monday, and a New Year’s party. Changes to the Teen Program Schedule

Two new programs have been added to the program schedule for Teens ages 10-18. On Tuesdays from 4:00-5:00, the crowd favorite Roblox Club is returning. On Saturday mornings from 11:00 AM-12:30 PM, come have a continental breakfast and play games at Board Game Brunch. See the teen program page for more information. Registration is first come first served, so check out what programs we are offering this fall and register in person at the library or by calling (845) 855 – 3444. Summer Reading Rally Winners to be Announced!

Calling all Summer Reading Rally Participants! Our competition has ended and it is time to find out which team read the most this summer. Will the Red Hot Kid Readers keep their championship status, or will the teens or adults prove to be the champions? If you want to find out, you’ll need to stop by the…     September Store: September 8th from 3-6 pm or September 9th from 10 am – 2 pm.  September Store is your chance to redeem your reading points for prizes, from books to toys! This is a drop-in program; no registration required.    Make-Your-Own Ice Cream Sunday Party, Saturday, September 9th,from 12-2 pm:  To celebrate the hard work readers of all ages have put in to their reading this summer, we will be holding a Make-Your-Own Ice Cream Sunday Party for all participants in the summer reading rally. If you plan to attend, please email or call the library to let us know the number of people you’ll be bringing, that way we have enough ice cream! This family-oriented program cannot accommodate drop-offs and is meant...

Library After Hours

Saturday, March 25, 6:00 – 8:00 PM There is a new program for teens at the Pawling Library! Every last Saturday of the month, teens are invited to attend Library After Hours, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, after the library closes for the day. Each month the program will have a different theme and activities. March’s theme is the Great Library Escape Game! Work in teams to find clues and escape the library! The game was created by Chris Grabenstein, the author of Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library. Read more about the program here. Registration is required. A Hot Race Right to the Finish!

Pawling Library Reading Rally participants gathered on a very hot and sticky Saturday to eat ice cream sundaes and find out the final results of this summer’s reading competition.  Everyone worked hard and as a community we read 342,204 minutes…that 5,703 hours of reading.  That’s amazing! TODAY is the big day…International Games Day @ the Pawling Library!

Today is our day of fun at the Pawling Library. We’ve gathered our games and we’re ready to enjoy the best game day ever!  Come down and enjoy our great selection of board games, Wii games, computer games and more! We know it’s lots of fun to play games, but there are many benefits of playing games as well, so come on down to the Pawling Library for a full day of family fun.  We’ll have board games for ages 3 – 18 years, Minecraft & Roblox stations, Wii games and even some of our popular spotlight events!  (Please note Minecraft is for grades 5 & up) Children ages 2 – 9 years are welcome to come with their families to play.  Students ages 10 years & up are invited to bring a friend and play together.
