Vote for the Presidents of the Library!
This is an important election year for our country and it’s also an election year at the Pawling Library! We've invited children and teens from our community to nominate their choices of favorite literary characters to be President of the Children's Books and President of the Teen Books.
Now it's time for you to vote for your pick to be the next presidents. Read over their slogans and platforms and chose who you think will make the best leaders for the Library!
The winners will be announced by the end of the day on Tuesday, November 5th.
Meet the Candidates for Teen President:
Fairy Godmother Bristal Evergreen from Land of Stories by Chris Colfer
Vote for Magic!
The Fairy Godmother will protect you from any threats (like trolls) because she is brave and courageous and will help you with anything that you need.
As President, The Fairy Godmother will let you go inside your favorite books.
Dog Man from Dog Man by Dav Pilkey
Dog Man is go! (It don't make no sense but we love it!
Dog Man is a good leader because he is a good cop and a good person. A bad dog, but a good person.
As President, Dog Man promises a no leash law, free dog food on weekends and holidays, fire hydrants that are open to the public, and he's finally going to catch that cat.

If elected president, everyone gets a free comic book every Sunday and he will get rid of Grandpa so we can play all day.

Harry Potter is a good leader because he is tustworthy, smart, reliable, and brave.
As President, Harry wants everyone to be able to go to Hogwarts for free. Vote for Harry!

Vote for Percy! 'Cuz, He's Him! (Also, don't vote for Harry Potter)
Percy Jackson is strong and passionate and he will kill all evil, ancient monsters.
If he is elected, Percy will make books come alive so you can meet the characters from your favorite book. You might as well save your time and vote for Percy 'cuz he's basically him. Whatever you do, just vote for Percy!

Charlie Brown from Good Ol' Charlie Brown by Charles M. Schultz
No bullies! Snacks: give them to everyone!
Charlie Brown is a good leader because he is loyal. He's heroic, nice, and kind, He has a tone of friends, so if he ever needs help, he has them. They can fill in for him. Plus, his dog, Snoopy, is very nice. Also, he is funny.
If elected president, Charlie Brown will be sure there are no bullies anywhere! Especially at the Library. He is popular so he can help others make friends, too. Also, he will give snacks to everyone, especially good ones when the food is bad or they are hungry.

He would make everyone a superhero.

When he is president, he will keep all the people safe.

If elected president, the Caterpillar will build a garden to read in with pretty flowers. There will be more snacks at library classes.
